Les concours I.T.R.F. (Ingénieurs, Techniques de Recherche et de Formation) sont ouverts jusqu'au 28 Avril 2015.

Les docteurs en Astrophysique peuvent candidater en externe et en catégorie A dans la BAP de leur choix (pour information, BAP E : Informatique, Statistique et Calcul Scientifique).

Le déroulement du concours est le suivant : 

1) Dossier papier contenant un rapport d'activité en accord avec la fiche métier (à envoyer avant le 28 Avril 2015).

2) Lettre de motivation et CV en ligne si acceptation à l'oral.

3) Oral de 10 min de présentation sans support puis 20 min de questions.

Postdoctoral position in the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory (21/08/2014)

The Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory has an immediate opening for the position of on-site deputy to the VERITAS Observatory Manager (Dr. Pascal Fortin) and VERITAS IT specialist.  The primary focus of this key position is helping ensure continued smooth operation of VERITAS, and the successful candidate will be expected to perform a number of software and hardware tasks at the VERITAS site in Arizona.  In particular they will maintain the ~50 linux-based computers used during VERITAS operations, as well as the experiment's network infrastructure, communications systems and all related documentation.  The specific tasks required are thoroughly detailed in the link below.  We do expect the scientist will, after settling-in, have ~1/4 time available for independent research (e.g. with VERITAS and other SAO instruments). Funding is available for the successful candidate to travel to scientific meetings and conferences.

 Non-US citizens are welcome to apply, but a strong command of the English language is required.  The candidate should have at least some post-doctoral research experience and must have a driver’s license.

 The hire will be made on the Government Service scale at Grade-11.  Promotions are possible.  The term of the position is indefinite, however the position is contingent upon continued VERITAS site-operations funding.

Michigan State hosts a growing program in particle astrophysics, including efforts on both IceCube and the HAWC TeV gamma ray observatory, which benefits from close connections to high energy physics groups working in neutrino physics and at the LHC.
